Kenneth L. Bush, 11614 Burt St., died Saturday from complications of a heart attack Oct. 31. He was 77. A longtime Omahan, Bush worked as a personnel executive for Omaha University, Continental Baking Co., Paramount Paper Co. and Methodist Hospital.

He was born Jan. 12, 1915, in Cherokee County, Iowa. He graduated from the Iowa State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts in 1938 with a degree in industrial science. From 1939 to 1943 he taught high school in Irwin, Traer and Clarion, Iowa. He then joined the U.S. Navy, where he served from 1943 to 1946 and commanded a close-in fire support vessel in the Pacific. From 1946 to 1951 Bush was personnel consultant at Omaha University, now the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He was personnel director for Continental Baking Co. from 1951 to 1955, when he became personnel director and production manager for Paramount Paper Co. He left Paramount in 1965 to enter private business. In 1970, he joined the staff of Methodist Hospital, where he was vice president for personnel. He retired in 1977 but continued to do consulting work in human resources for hospitals in Nebraska and surrounding states.

His first wife, Wava, whom he married in 1938, died in 1977 in Omaha. They had two children: a daughter, Wannette, a former Miss Omaha, who died in 1970, and a son, Randall, who lives near San Francisco. Bush is survived by his second wife, Shirley, his son and two grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 15002 Blondo St.
