Mildred J. Johns, 91, of Clearwater, Florida died Thursday (Jan. 23, 1997) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. She was born is Dows, Iowa, and came here in 1969 from Waterloo, Iowa. She worked as a bookkeeper for 23 years for Municipal Light and Power Co., Ackley, Iowa. She also worked as a salesperson in the bridal department at New York Fashions, Waterloo, Iowa, and for Franelle Dress Shop, Clearwater. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Clearwater, the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Largo, and the American Association of Retired Persons. She was past national president of Wa-Tan-Ye Association, Waterloo, and past president of the Iowa Club, Clearwater. Survivors include a stepson, Robert L. Johns, Miami; and two cousins, Jaline Simpson, Boerne, Texas, and James Buchwald, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Moss-Feaster Funeral Homes, Belcher Road Chapel, Clearwater.
