Norma Lorene Anderson, age 88 of Lamoni, Iowa, the daughter of Roy Wellman Gregory and Gladys (Knight) Gregory, was born July 18, 1919 at Oskaloosa, Iowa. She died at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa on Sunday, November 11, 2007.

Norma graduated from Marshalltown High School in Marshalltown, Iowa in 1938. She married Bernard Arthur Anderson on August 7, 1938. While he was in the service they moved around a lot. While living in Eagle Grove, Iowa they adopted two daughters, Cathy and Connie. Then the family moved to Perry, Iowa where Norma lived for 35 years. While there she worked at the J.C. Penney store and then did clothing alterations in her own home. She was a member of the Perry Presbyterian Church, the Garden Club, Eastern Star, and a Bridge Club. She loved her family, her dog Charlie, and traveling. For years Norma and Bernard took annual fishing trips to Canada. After his death in January 1977 she took many cruises and enjoyed going places and shopping. In July 1999 she moved to Lamoni where she enjoyed living at Crown Colony.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Bernard; daughter Connie Higgins in 1985; and granddaughter Jennifer Ann Long. Survivors include her daughter Cathy West and husband Bug of Stanberry, Missouri; grandsons: Chris Long and wife Melissa of Guthrie Center, Iowa and David Long of Panora, Iowa; four great grandchildren; Cooper, Paige, Adam, and Rachel; sister Betty Birdsong of Hopewell, Virginia; niece Marsha; and other relatives and friends.

Graveside memorial services were held November 16 at the Vernon Cemetery near Renwick, Iowa. Arrangements were through Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home of Leon and Lamoni.
