Iris June Oren. Born June 23, 1924 in Goldfield, Iowa. Passed away January 12, 2008 after a short illness. June moved to Seattle in 1942 after finishing business school in Des Moines, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria Oren Smutka. She is survived by her daughter, Anita Pfeil, son, Bill Oren and his wife, Marcy, son, Ron Oren, and son in law, Steven Smutka; grandchildren, Rick Pfeil, Michael Smutka and Brittney Morlan; 3 great grandchildren. June worked for the Seattle Public School district until her first retirement then went on to work in administration at the Ida Culver House, along with her volunteer work at Northwest Hospital. She enjoyed playing bridge, attending concerts with her many friends, singing in the choir at the South County Senior Center and was a long time member of Haller Lake Methodist Church. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Haller Lake Methodist Church, 13055 1st Ave. N.E. Seattle. Remembrances can be sent to Haller Lake Methodist Church.
