HAMPTON—Leah Ellen (Scott) Hamilton, 93, of Hampton, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at the Morgan United Methodist Church in rural Dows, with burial in the Maynes Grove Cemetery, rural Bradford. Visitation will be Thursday 4-7 p.m. at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Officiating the service will be the Revs. Lexie Kirkpatrick, Keith Scott and Steve Hamilton.

HAMPTON — Leah Ellen Scott Hamilton, 93, of Hampton, died Friday, Dec. 14, at Franklin General Hospital. She was born June 20, 1914, in Marion, daughter of Mark and Lola Beggs Scott. She married Lawrence W. Hamilton on Aug. 22, 1938, in Marion. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Hamilton attended Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) and graduated from Iowa State University, Ames, with degrees in home economics and journalism. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: three sons, Larry (Barb) of Cedar Falls, John (Linda) of Hampton and Steven (Julie) of Laramie, Wyo.; a daughter, Ardith (Marc) Kirchhoff of Columbia, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill (Gertie) Scott of Alburnett. Preceded in death by: a son, Jay W.; a grandson; a sister, Mary Ester Jordan; four half brothers, Clyde, Orville, Irvin and Jay Scott; and three half sisters, Genevie Hutton, Bertha Scott and Bertha Bernice Scott.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Morgan United Methodist Church, rural Dows, with burial in Maynes Grove Cemetery, rural Bradford. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Hampton. Memorials: may be directed to Alzheimer’s research or the church.
