HAMPTON - Hazel Jamison Pfaltzgraff, 104, of Hampton died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at the Hampton Care Center. Services were held Friday, April 18, at the New Hope United Methodist Church at Dumont with burial in the Dumont Cemetery. Rev. Michael Shaffer officiated.

Hazel was born Feb. 23, 1899, at Belmond to Elis and Mabel Jamison Polk. She attended Dumont High School until 11th grade and graduated from Parkersburg High School. She attended one year of business school at the University of Iowa. On June 30, 1923, Hazel married Ilo Harlan Pfaltzgraff at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. She worked as bank cashier at the State Bank in Dumont. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Dumont and the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Murphy, and husband George of St. Paul, Minn.; two grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two stepgreat-great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Thelma Creeden. Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton was in charge of arrangements.
