HAMPTON - Veone A. Rule, 93, of Hampton died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Funeral services were Friday, Jan. 2, at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton with Rev. Marlys Ruth officiating. Burial was in the Hampton Cemetery.
Veone was born June 22, 1910, in Belmond to Charles and Tillie (Tomson) Peterson. She graduated from Hampton High School in 1928, and from UNI in 1932. On April 10, 1938, Veone was united in marriage to John S. Rule at Hampton. She was a substitute teacher and was employed by IPS in Hampton. Veone was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Charles G. Rule of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and one brother.
