HAMPTON-Clara Lauritzen, 92, of Hampton, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at the Sheffield Care Center. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 27 at the United Methodist Church in Hampton, with Rev. Wilbert Trusheim officiating. Burial was in the Alexander Cemetery.
Clara was born March 4, 1909, in Alexander to Dirk R. and Yettie Pals Dirksen. She graduated from the Heidelberg catechism in the Reformed Church of Alexander. She graduated from Alexander High School in 1927, and clerked in grocery stores in Alexander until her marriage to Folmer Lauritzen at Nashua, on April 28, 1935. Clara was a homemaker and helped her husband with farming and trucking at their home in the Sheffield area. After retirement they made their home in Hampton, continuing to actively care for her family and friends.
Survivors include two sisters, Grace Modderman and Jennie DeWaard both of Belmond; two brothers, Louis, of Belmond, and Dirk, of Alexander. Preceding her in death were her husband and her parents. Sietsema Vogel of Hampton, was in charge of arrangements.
