GOLDFIELD — Doris J. Larson, the daughter of Floyd and Sarah (Struck) Rossow was born March 29, 1918 in Lohrville, Iowa. She was raised in the area of her birth, and attended Lohrville High School and Drake University. Doris married Harlan L. Larson on November 29, 1940 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Alpha Delphian Club, the Goldfield United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, Goldfield Telephone Company Board Member, Oakridge Recreation, and Drake University Alumni Association.

Doris passed away Monday, December 31, 2007 at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harlan in 1981; sisters, Florine Bauman, Gayle Hammitt, Kathryn Christensen; and a grandson, Michael Eagen. Survivors include her children, Lana Eagen and husband Terry of Mason City; Lance Larson and his wife Linda of Omaha, NE; Lynne Malloy and her husband, Robert of Goldfield; Larry Larson and his wife Deb of Lehigh; 10 Grandchildren, Todd (Val) Eagen, Lisa Eagen, Kyle Eagen, Alicia Gracey, Jennifer (Derek) Jernstedt, Laura (Spencer) Curtis, Nathan (Jill) Malloy, Katy (Luke) Essing, Ann (Chad) Moenck and Claudia Larson; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Glenn Rossow and wife Marilyn of Adel; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 3, 2008, 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Goldfield with Rev. Dale A. Schoening officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
