Clifford Claude, 87, Eagle Grove, died Thursday, April 10, 2003 at the Rotary Ann Home at Eagle Grove. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Foster Funeral Home, with Oscar Davis, lay minister officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery at Webster City. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and prior to the service on Monday.

James Clifford Claude, son of James and Christina (Lula) Hansen Claude, was born March 20, 1916 on a farm north of Woolstock. He attended the Troy Center rural school and graduated from Woolstock High School in 1933. He started farming with his father, southwest of Woolstock. On June 3, 1939, he married Enid Lorraine Doolittle at Webster City. The couple farmed southwest of Woolstock. In 1950, they moved to a farm 2.5 miles east of Woolstock. In 1984, he semi-retired and remained on the family farm. Mrs. Claude died August 5, 1993. In May of 1999, he moved to the Rotary Ann Assisted Living at Eagle Grove.

Mr. Claude is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Caroll and Anne Claude, Bryan and Julie Claude, all of Woolstock; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanone and Russ McClure, Odgen, Marlys and Jim Caquelin of Hillsborough, NC. Ellen Stanley and her fiance, Paul Musch of Durham, NC; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister Arlene Sullivan of Webster City. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Virgene Young in 1975; his parents and a sister, Della Gramblin.
