CLARION, Iowa - Arlo A. Kelling, 74, of the Clarion-Eagle Grove area died Monday at the Clarion Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Baptist Church in Renwick, Iowa. Burial will be in Luni-Boone Township Cemetery. Gary-Robert-Murphy-Schaff Funeral Home of Renwick is in charge of the arrangements.

Arlo Allen Kelling was born on April 26, 1923, near Renwick, Iowa, to Carl and Frances Pletcher Kelling. He attended the Renwick Baptist Church and graduated from the Renwick High School. He married E. Louise Gates on December 25, 1948, and farmed northwest of Renwick until 1952. He moved to Clarion and farmed southeast of there for 18 years, moving to Eagle Grove and continuing farming until 1996. His wife died in 1983. He became a resident of die Clarion Health Care Center in January of 1996.Arlo Allen Kelling died on Monday, March 9, 1998, at Community Memorial Hospital in Clarion at the age of 74. Survivors include his children, Steven of Orange City, Iowa, Linda Johnson and husband, Mark, rural Webster City, Rick and wife, Terri, Grinnell, and Patti of Granville; his mother, Frances Kelling, Eagle Grove; six granddaughters; three sisters, Betty Gillespie and husband, Jim, Hillsdale, Ill., Bonnie Brown Hanson and husband, Dave, Clinton, Faith Larson and husband, Glen, Rapid City, S. D.; and 1 brother, Dale Kelling and wife, Veleda, Corwith. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl; one brother, Lowell; a brother-in-law, Leighton Brown; and two nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 12, 1998, at 10 a.m. at the Renwick Baptist Church, Renwick, with Pastor Eldon Elmore officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery in rural Renwick. Gary-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home of Renwick was in charge of arrangements.
