Ruth Mae Campbell, daughter of W. H. and May Campbell, was born in Goldfield, Iowa, May 19, 1893. She lived all her life in this general area. On July 15, 1914 she was married to H. M. Stanbery in Clarion, Iowa by Rev. Van Meter, then pastor of the Methodist Church. They had three children to enrich their lives, all of which survive her. They are: Harriet and Ross, at home, and Dr. William H. of Iowa Falls, Iowa. One grandchild, Becky, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Stanbery, also survives her. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1966. Mrs. Stanbery died at her home of an apparent heart attack Sunday evening, November 24th at the age of 75 years, the last survivor of her own family, the Campbells. She was a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Taft, pioneer residents of Clarion and Goldfield. She was a member of the First United Methodist church of Clarion and a faithful listener to the services of her church on the radio since poor health made it difficult for her to attend. She enjoyed her hobbies of fish and birds. She enjoyed all varieties of fish in her aquariums, and her one parakeet and two canaries.
