IOWA FALLS—Florence Klein, 89, of Iowa Falls, died on Friday, November 9, 2007, at the Scenic Manor in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, November 14, at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Alden, with burial to follow in the Alden Cemetery. The Surls Funeral Home in Alden is in charge of the arrangements.

Florence G. Klein, was born on March 15, 1918 at Dows, the daughter of Lars and Anna Douvre Schager. She received her early education in Dows and graduated from the Dows High School with the class of 1937. She married Herman Klein on October 12, 1941, at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Alden. Florence was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and Fellowship Club. In addition to being a homemaker, Florence was an extraordinary women who loved her family very much. She had many friends and would do anything for anyone. She was a great cook, and the children and grandchildren always knew they could expect a great meal while at mom’s and grandma’s.

Survivors include her children, Corwyn Klein and Carol of Iowa Falls, Steve Klein and wife, Lori of Alden and Colleen Good and husband, Thomas of Pilot Mound; sister, Helma Hofsommer of Spencer; grandchildren, Joy (Brian) Culberson of Cedar Falls, Allison (Jordan) Fisher of Boone, Janelle (Jared) DeMeulenaere of Cedar Rapids, Brent Tjarks of Washington, D.C., Sena Ornelas of Independence, Missouri, Paula (Jeff) Tripp of Alden, Samantha (Brian) Hansen of Alden, Patty (Zach) Tapscott of Peru, Illinois, Matt Klein of Iowa Falls and Jerry (Kelly) Hartema of Alden; step-grandchildren, Danny, Scott and Whitney Jass of Alden, Wade (Robin) Good of Boone, Matthew (Jessi) Good of Rochester, Minnesota and Adam and Aaron Good of Boone; 23 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Mary Schager, Edna Sanders, Doris Rieks, Lillian Locke and Mavis Klein, all of Iowa Falls and Esther Pfeffer of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandchildren, Mike Klein and Kimberly Hartema; five brothers and a sister.
