BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Pamela J. Schlick, of Bloomington, Ind., and formerly of Langhorne, Penn., died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at her residence after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 58 years old. Born June 13, 1949, in Tahlequah, Oklah., she was daughter of Howard and Pauline (Gray) Dreasler. She moved with her family to Iowa where she grew up in the towns of Cherokee, Eagle Grove and Fort Dodge. She was a graduate of Iowa State University and a retired consulting project manager for RJO Group, New York, N.Y.

After marrying her husband Jim in 1971, the newlyweds moved to Bloomington where they lived through 1989. While working on her Masters Degree at Indiana University, she was the Assistant Curator for th Elizabeth Sage Historic Costume Collection. She also earned her second Masters Degree in instructional Systems Technology and the moved to Pennsylvania to begin her new career. After her retirement in 2006, the returned to Bloomington. Pam was very active in volunteer and philanthropic organizations. She was a past officer in the Pi Beta Phi Sorority Alumnae Association in Bloomington, and Treasurer of the Princeton New Jersey Alumnae Club. She had also become active in the Bloomington North Habitat for Humanity. In 1993 for her birthday, her husband took her to the Harley-Davidson 90th anniversary in Milwaukee and soon thereafter she obtained her license and became an avid motorcyclist. She held several offices in the Bucks County, Penn., Harley Owners Group, including editor, treasurer, asst. director and director. She was a member of the Hoosier Hill H.O.G. in Bloomington. Through her volunteer efforts, Pam contributed countless hours to the annual Muscular Dystrophy Association “Ride for Life” which is co-sponsored by Brian’s Harley-Davidson in Langhorne, Penn. She supported the MDA by sewing patches on motorcycle vests and jackets, baking bread and cookies, and competing in the annual chili cook-off. While growing up in Iowa, Pam fell in love with her grandfather’s 1960 Peugeot. These cars became a lifelong love of hers and her husband Jim. She was active in the Peugeot Club of North America, and was featured in Hemmings Sport and Exotic Car magazines with her red 1968 Peugeot convertible. She enjoyed gardening and sewing as well.

She is survived by her husband James Schlick of Bloomington; one brother Paul “Herb” Dreasler of Marshalltown; two nieces Quinn and Malory Dreasler of Marshalltown; an aunt Ruby (Purdum) Sonnefeld of Oklahoma, two cousins John Purdum and Susan (Purdum) Wahid and their families; a mother-in-law Velma Schlick of Charles City; and a brother-and sister-in-law Paul and Judy Schlick of Maple Grove, Minn.

Private family services are scheduled. A public memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at 2 p.m at Allen Funeral Home. In memory of Pam memorial contributions may be made to the Bloomington North Chapter of Habitat for Humanity or a charity of one’s choice in care of Allen Funeral Home, 3000 East Third, Bloomington, Indiana, 47401. H.O.G. members are encouraged to honor Pam’s memory by supporting the MDA “Ride for Life” through Brian’s Harley-Davidson, 600 South Flowers Mill Road, Langhorne, PA, 19047.
