CLEAR LAKE — Millus Anne Eastman Charlson, 69, of 512 8th Ave. N., Clear Lake, IA. died Thursday, December 6th, 2007 at Muse Norris Hospice, Mason City, IA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 11 at United Methodist Church, 508 2nd Ave N, Clear Lake, with Rev. Diana A. Hoover officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Monday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapels, 101 N 4th St, Clear Lake. Family suggests memorials to Clear Lake United Methodist Church or Hospice of North Iowa.

Millus was born April 1st, 1938 in Mason City, Iowa. Daughter of Donald S. and Liberty M. (Stephens) Eastman. She attended elementary school in Clear Lake, graduated from West High Waterloo, and earned her Bachelors Degree from University of Northern IA in Cedar Falls. Millus married Roger E. Charlson, July 1963 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waterloo. They lived in Clarion, then Fort Dodge where Millus worked as a telephone switchboard operator then receptionist for Ft. Dodge Labs and Iowa Beef. Divorced, Millus returned to Waterloo working with the State of Iowa Soil Conservation. Later she moved to Clear Lake where she recently worked with the Girl Scout office in Mason City. She loved to be with family, play piano, sew, bake, work with ceramics, and play cards at Singles Club. Millus was active in church choir, bells, and teaching Sunday School.

She is survived by her four children: son, Steven E. Charlson (wife Alison) Des Moines, daughter Anne M. Charlson Hatoum (husband Nassir) of West Des Moines, daughter Carolyn K. Charlson Ferry of Eagle Grove, and daughter Susan E. Charlson of Eagle Grove, a sister Miriam Eden (husband Jim) of Colorado, and ex-husband Roger E. Charlson of Fort Dodge. 13 grandchildren: Emily Charlson, Kevin Charlson, Steven Charlson, John Charlson, Nicholaus Ferry, Mason Ferry, Stephanie Ferry, Jordan Ferry, Brooklynn Ferry, Kaitlynn Ferry, Eric Lawler, Faith Lawler, and Ashley Lawler. She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother Don & Myra Eastman of Clear Lake, mother & stepfather Liberty & Lyle Jenkins of Waterloo, and brother Earl James Eastman of Clear Lake.
