GOWRIE — Ione Mae Craigmile, age 96, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at the Gowrie Care Center, Gowrie, Iowa. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie, with Pastor Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be in Gowrie Township Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Survivors include brother, Thomas Jetmund of Ogden; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceding her in death was her her husband, her parents, Rasmus (Ross) and Inga Matilda (Jensen) Jetmund, brothers, Raymond Jetmund, Russell Jetmund and Melvin Jetmund, sisters, Helen Sage and Mildred Tysdale, Pauline Seabock and Viola Jetmund.

Ione Jetmund was born on May 24, 1911, in Callender, Iowa. She was baptized on Nov. 5, 1913, at Vinje Lutheran Church in Callender. Ione graduated from Dows Public High School. She worked as a clerk and waitress. Ione married Mark Y. Craigmile on Dec. 1, 1933, at his brother’s home in Clarion. They farmed in the Gowrie area until moving into town in 1958. He died on April 1, 1967. She did housework and also worked at the Palmer Funeral Home. Ione was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Women of the ELCA, Sons of Norway, a 50 year member of the Deborah Chapter No. 418 of the Order of Eastern Star, Webster County Farm Bureau and Golden Crest Villa.
