ROCKWELL - Mary Lou Schomers, 78, of Rockwell, formerly of Lindale, Texas, passed away Nov. 1, 2007, of complications from Parkinson's disease at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Mary Lou was born in Mason City on Feb. 3, 1929, to Hazel (Winnacott) and Lee D. Miller. She attended Mason City Schools. She married Leslie D Whipple July 14, 1946 in Mason City. They later moved to Belmond. Four children were born to this union. She married Gerald F Schomers Jan. 19, 1974 in Des Moines. They later moved to Texas. She returned to Iowa in 2003 after the death of her husband.

Mary Lou is survived by her children, Bonita (Dean) Weber, Fred (Deb) Whipple, Marsha (Wayne) Westbrook, Jeanne Millang (Bruce Baxter), Beth (Bill) Speights, Michael (Gail) Schomers, Tom Schomers and Susan (Jim) Swanson; 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, David L and Richard; sister, Betty. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerry; her sister, Dorothy; her brother, George; and her granddaughter, Mindy.

Graveside services will be held 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa. Arrangements being handled by Memorial Services of Iowa, in Ankeny.
