Thomas H. Watt, age eighty-eight of Dows, passed away Saturday evening at the University hospital in Iowa City, after an illness of five weeks. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church, in Dows, and burial was made in Fairview cemetery. Rev. Frank Considine conducted the services and the Van-Hove funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Watt was born September 23, 1872 at Medena, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Watt. He was married to Maude Lebell March 20, 1901, at Alden. They engaged in farming. Mr. Watt is survived by three sons, Dave Watt and Thomas Watt, of Dows, and Don Watt, of Clear Lake, and one daughter, Mrs. Harry Schroeder of Dows, twelve grandchi1dren and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. John Tjarks, of Iowa Falls, Mrs. Fred Burns, of Alden. and Mrs. Maggie Bashford of Webster City. He was preceded in death by his wife and one daughter.
