Thomas Tendall's rites on Monday; Died at 91 years

Funeral services for Thomas Tendall, 91, were held Monday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Rev. Oscar Laaveg officiating. and the Johnston Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Tendall died very suddenly at his home on Thursday morning of last week. Burial was in the St. Olaf cemetery, with the following serving as pallbearers: Russell Lonnevik, Sherman Ekeland, Reuben Nelson, Edward Lewis, Chester Hill and John Rokke. Participating in the services were two nephews of the deceased, Rev. Murley Severtson, Clear Lake and Russell Tendall of Seneca, Ill.

Thomas Tendall was born in Kendall county, Ill. on Nov. 14, 1875, son of Ole and Siri (Larsdatter) Tendall. He got his education in rural schools in Illinois and on Dec. 1, 1894, was married to Hannah Thompson. They moved in 1915 west of Belmond, where he was a prominent farmer for many years. His wife died in 1933 and he later married Tillie Scott, It was after her death in 1964 that Mr. Tendall left the farm to make his home in Belmond.

Four sons and two daughters survive him; Otis of Clarion, Roy and Adolph of Belmond, Stansel of Waterloo; Mrs. Angeline Buck and Mrs. Hazel Tegland of Clarion, He also leaves 22 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren; a brother, Lars Tendall of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho; and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Peterson of San Diego, Calif, and Mrs. Maggie Thompson of Aurora, Ill. Besides his two wives, Mr. Tendall was preceded in death by two sons, Lester and Ralph; a daughter, Mrs. Berdie Rise; Four sisters and five brothers.

THE FAMILY OF THOMAS TENDALL wishes to express a sincere thank you to everyone who remembered us with flowers, cards, memorials, personal calls, and food following the passing of our loved one. A special thanks to the ladies of St. Olaf, who served the lunch, also Rev. O. Laaveg and Rev. Murley Severtson.
