CLEAR LAKE - Kermit W. Kew, 77, of Clear Lake passed away Wednesday (Sept. 19, 2007) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. Funeral services for Kermit Kew will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at the United Methodist Church in Alexander with Pastor Kalen Fristad officiating. Burial will be at the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Sept. 21, at the United Methodist Church in Alexander.

Kermit, the son of William and Jennie Root Kew, was born Sept. 26, 1929, in Alexander. He graduated from Alexander High School in 1947. Kermit served with the U.S. Army from 1951 until 1953. Following his discharge he farmed in the Alexander and Meservey areas until retirement. Kermit was united in marriage to Helen Gabrielson on May 27, 1951.

Kermit is survived by his wife, Helen; one daughter, Linda (Gary) Czuba of Cedar Falls; two sons, Ken (Lisa) of Janesville, Wis., and Kevin (Jan) of Coulter; eight grandchildren: Jennifer (Jason) Kinder, Lisa Czuba, Jeff Czuba, Tyler Kew, Melissa Wolff, Kandi (Andrew) Hensel, Kelle (Josh) Bowden, and Kyle Kew; two great-grandchildren, Makayla Kinder and Rylee Czuba; two brothers, Eldon (Ellen) Kew and Leland Kew; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dugger Ewing Funeral Home.
