Ruth Harriett (Holmes) Weir (23 July 1913, Dows, Iowa - 1 April 1913, Clarion, IA)

Mrs. Otis Weir Rites Saturday
Ruth Harriett Holmes, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Holmes, was born at Dows, Iowa, on July 23, 1913, and passed away at Clarion, Iowa, on Apr. 1. 1964. She attended school and graduated from the Dows High School. She was married to Otis Weir on October 12, 1934 in Missouri, and they have since made their home in Wright County. She was preceded in death by a half brother, Ralph, and her father. Surviving are her husband, a son, Fritz Weir of Webster City, and a daughter. Donna (Mrs. Melroy Hansen), also of Webster City; three grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Gertrude Holmes of Dows, Iowa; one brother, Harold Holmes of Hampton, Iowa; four sisters, Mrs. George Pals of Belmond, Mrs. Earl Hoffsummer [Hofsommer] of Dows, Mrs. Joe Senenfeller [Senenfelder] of Minneapolis, Minn., and Miss Blanch Holmes of Iowa City, Ia. other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon, April 4, at the Eyler Funeral Chapel with the Rev. E. C. Allen, Methodist pastor in charge. Interment was at the Clarion Evergreen cemetery.
