Former Woolstock Man Dies Monday

WOOLSTOCK—Dave Hansen, 61, a former resident of the Woolstock community, died Monday at his home in Webster City. He had been in failing health the past three years. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Foster funeral home with Rev. Frank Johnson of Gowrie officiating. Burial was made in Memorial Park cemetery at Ft. Dodge.

David Peterson Hansen, son of Nis and Lydia Hansen, was born Sept. 13, 1891, on a farm in Wright county near Woolstock and was educated and reared in this community. He was united in marriage Dec. 4, 1912, to Miss Agnes Burns. With the exception of six years spent in farming near Lehigh, Mr. and Mrs. Hanson farmed near Woolstock until 1951 when they retired and moved to Webster City. For the past year, Mr. Hansen had been employed at Fairmont Foods in Webster City. He is survived by his wife; one son, Arthur of Lake City; and one daughter, Mrs. Alvin (Dorothy) Wells of Webster City. One grandson, Verle Lee Hansen, son of the late Roland Hansen, lost his life during World War H.; a granddaughter, Lois Faye Hansen of Lake City; his mother, Mrs. Lydia Hansen of Eagle Grove; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Claude and Mrs. James Claude, both of Eagle Grove, and a brother, Charlie Hansen of Webster City. He was preceded in death by his one son and his father.
