IOWA FALLS—Viola Margaret Simpson, 89, of Iowa Falls, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2007, at the Scenic Manor, Iowa Falls. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 3, at the Linn’s Funeral Chapel, Iowa Falls. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery, Dows.

Viola Margaret Pepper, was born on January 29, 1918, on the family farm in Vernon Township, Franklin County, the daughter of Henry Harrison and Ruth Margaret (Bailey) Pepper. She attended the Dows Community Schools, graduating from the Dows High School with the class on 1937. On October 24, 1936, she was united in marriage to Dale Gilman Simpson at Iowa Falls. She was a hairdresser, owning Vi’s Beauty Shop for many years, retiring in 2004. Vi was a longtime member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Iowa Falls.

Viola Simpson is survived by her daughter, Marloene Loraine Brown and husband, Leon of Sparks, Nevada; her son, Dale Gilman Simpson Jr. and wife, Lily of Highland, Utah; six grandchildren, David Martinez and wife, Christine of Taos, New Mexico, Jeremiah Simpson and wife, Breanne of New York City, New York, Matthew Simpson and wife, Melany of New York City, Joshua Simpson and wife, Alicia of New York City, Rene Clark and husband, Anthony of Highland and Dale Simpson III and wife, Becky of Provo, Utah; five great-grandchildren, Tatjana, Seppo and Terai Simpson of New York City and Vanessa and Julie Martinez of Taos. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ruth Pepper; her husband, Dale G. Simpson Sr.; a daughter, Loreen Dail Simpson; and one sister, Charlotte Pepper Jenkins.
