HALSEY FUNERAL AT EAGLE GROVE
Woman, 85, Resident for Many Years Brought Back for Burial.

EAGLE GROVE, Dec. 27. — Funeral services for Mrs. W. C. Halsey, 85, for many years a resident of this city, were held on Friday at the undertaking parlors of Kubitschek and Kastler, in charge of the Rev. A. S. Kilbourn of the Congregational church. Mrs. Fred Cotton and her sister, Mrs. Frank Hall, sang "The Beautiful Garden of Prayer" and "Rock of Ages," with piano accompaniment by Mrs. C. E. Middleton. Burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery, Eagle Grove. Mrs. Halsey, whose maiden name was Lucinda Cannon, was born in Woodford county, Illinois, and came to Belle Plaine when she was a young woman. She was married in 1872, to William C. Halsey and for many years lived in Eagle Grove. For the past several years she has made her home with her son in Belle Plaine. Mr. Halsey died six years ago. Mrs. Halsey was a member of the Eagle Grove Congregational church and of the Eastern Star.

Surviving her are two sons: William C. of Boone, and Herbert, Dallas, Texas. Another son, Clifton, died 12 years ago. The bearers at the funeral service were: R. M. Smallpage, Matt Spangler, Russell Smith, L. W. Worthington, Webb James, and Sylvester Flynn.
