Daisy B. Grandgeorge (1920-2006)

IOWA FALLS — Daisy Blanche Grandgeorge, 86, of Iowa Falls, died Monday, Oct. 2, at the Westview Care Center, Britt. She was born Jan. 13, 1920, in Baxter Springs, Kan., daughter of Harvey and Edith McVicker Horton. On April 15, 1939, she married Harold “Mike” Grandgeorge. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Grandgeorge graduated from Eagle Grove Community Schools. She was employed as a waitress/cook with Chuck’s Cafe, a secretary for National By-Products in Iowa Falls, and was the city treasurer for the city of Iowa Falls.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mary E. Grandgeorge of Rohnert Park, Calif., and Elinor R. (Ronald) Biekert of Winthrop; a son, Roger M. (Donna) of State Center; seven grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, six great-grandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: three sisters, Eunice and Shirley Withers, and Emily Fisher; and two brothers, Russell and Harvey Horton.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Linn’s Funeral Chapel, with burial in Northlawn Memory Gardens, both in Iowa Falls. Public visitation from 9 a.m. until services Thursday at the funeral home.
