Evan M. Kennedy, 88, of Webster City, IA, died Friday, July 29, 2005 at the Hamilton Hospital in Webster City. Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Foster Funeral & Cremation Center, Webster City, with Pastor Ray Artrip officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, with graveside military rites by the American Legion Post #533 of Woolstock. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, and prior to the service on Tuesday.

Evan Max Kennedy, son of George and Margaret Brill Kennedy, was born February 7, 1917 at Kamrar. He received his education from the Kamrar Public School. Evan loved the outdoors and enjoyed learning from mother nature. On June 21, 1929, he married Mabel Irene Woodmansee at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City. He was employed by Franklins Manufacturing (Electrolux) until his retirement. Mrs. Kennedy died February 10, 1985.

Evan is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Kathy Kennedy of Webster City, Dan and Jenita Kennedy of Plattsburg, MO, Kevin and Karen Kennedy of Sioux Falls, SD; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna Hamre of Paw Paw, MI, Theda Johnson, Leah Meyers, and Faye Buckles, all of Webster City. In addition to his wife, Mabel, he was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Kennedy, in infancy. Evan was a member of the Church of Christ and the American Legion Post #533 of Woolstock, IA.
