The Rev. Arnold E. Windahl, 91, Fergus Falls, MN died Thursday, Nov. 10, 1994, at home. Arnold Edgar Windahl was born Sept. 10, 1903, in Marsh Grove Township, Marshall County, Minn., the son of Ole and Clara (Christiansen) Windahl. He attended school in the Newfolden, Minn., area until 1918. In 1919, he received a diploma from the American School of Music violin correspondence course. He graduated from the Lutheran Brethren High School, Grand Forks, as valedictorian in 1929. He graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, in 1934, and from Luther Seminary, St. Paul, in 1937. He married Esther M. Longren, May 20, 1936, in Thief River Falls. She died in June 1990. He married Ruthe (Vettrus) Price Oct. 20, 1991. He served parishes in Webster, Minn., Newark, Ill., Kenyon, Minn., Williston, N.D., and Goldfield, Iowa, and traveled for the Lutheran Evangelistic Movement form 1952 to 1957. He served as board chairman from 1946 to 1962 with the Latin American Lutheran Mission, and traveled with his brother, William, from 1957 to 1961 as part of a musical ministry.

He is survived by his wife; children, Evangeline, Solveig, Ethan and Rhoda; a foster daughter, Elayne DeMille; stepchildren, Jacquelyn and Dan Price and David Matthews-Price; grandchildren, Jonathan and Timothy Oleson, Matthew and Sarah Stenson, and Scott Nelson; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Emlyn Oleson; sisters, Esther Pedersen and Florence Haugen; a brother, William; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday in Bethel Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Olson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls, and an hour before services in the church. Burial: Bethesda Lutheran Cemetery, Newfolden. The family prefers memorials to the Fergus Falls Bethel Lutheran Church organ fund.
