MONMOUTH -- Phyllis J. Watts, 59, of 56 S. Martin Road, Janesville, Wis., formerly of Monmouth, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 1992, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. Born Feb. 5, 1933, in College Park, Md., to Jack P. and Mildred M. Williams Henry, she married James C. Watts on June 25, 1955, in Iowa. He died May 11, 1980. One infant son, Thomas, also preceded her in death. Surviving are her mother of Eagle Grove, Iowa; one son, Greg of Miami Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Susan Watts of Milwaukee; and one brother, Jack W. Henry of Eagle Grove.

She attended Monmouth College, where she was president of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and was a recipient of the Tau Pi cup. She taught kindergarten for several years and later earned her master of science degree from the University of Illinois. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Cargill United Methodist Church, Janesville, the Rev. Donald Fenner officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. t 7 p.m. today at Schneider Funeral Home, Janesvile. Private burial will be at Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
