Dorreen Kay (Coleman) Voigt
September 16, 1959 --- February 14, 1997

Dorreen Voigt, 37, died Friday afternoon, Feb. 14, 1997, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Fayette. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, United Methodist Church. Burial: West Union Cemetery, at a later date. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at Bum-ham-Wood Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, John; a son, Josh at home; her parents, Charles and Marcella Johnson of Eagle Grove; her father, Donald Coleman; five brothers, Dwight Coleman of Texas, Darrel Coleman of Eagle Grove, Kevin Coleman of Waseca, Minn., Brian Johnson of Des Moines and Scott Johnson of Cedar Rapids; and two sisters, Denise Hanken of Forest City and Lisa Baagoe of Polk City.

Dorreen Kay Coleman was born September 16, 1959, to Charles and Marcella Johnson in Britt, Iowa. She attended school in Algona and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1978. She married John Voight in 1980 in Eagle Grove. She attended Iowa Central Community College and Buena Vista College, where she received her degree in social work. For several years, she and her husband, also a social worker, worked with the Tekawitha Adolescent Treatment Center in Sisseton, South Dakota. She worked for Casey's and the Department of Human Services in Clarion. They moved to West Union last July. At the time of her death, she was employed by DHS in West Union as a social worker.

Dorreen Kay Voight died Friday, February 14, 1997, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident south of West Union, at the age of 37.

Survivors include her husband, John, West Union son, Joshua, West Union; parents, Marcella and Charles Johnson, Eagle Grove, and Donald Coleman; brothers, Dean Coleman, Eagle Grove, Kevin Coleman, Waseca, Minn., Dwight Coleman, Eagle Grove, Brian Johnson, Des Moines, and Scott Johnson, Cedar Rapids; sisters, Denise Hanken, Forest City, and Lisa Baagoe, Polk City; and grandmother, Matilda Madsen, Algona.

Memorial services were held at the United Methodist Church in West Union, Iowa, on Tuesday, February 18, 1997, with Reverend Kay Roath officiating, and at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 1997, with Reverend William Ballard officiating.

Arrangements were made by Burnham-Wood Funeral Home, Don Leahy, funeral director.
