Hazel J. Denger of Glen Ellyn, loving wife of the late Roy E.; dear mother of Bernadine [Merritt] Powles; grandmother of Stephen and Cynthia; sister of Ellen Hilpipre, Lena Henke, and Ida Bagley. Visitation Saturday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m., at the Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane street, Glen Ellyn. Funeral service and interment Monday in Dows, Ia. In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral Services for Hazel J. Denger

Hazel J. Denger, daughter of Hannah and Lars Dahlgren, was born September 23, 1908 in Wright county, in 1926 she was united in marriage to Roy K. Denger. They made their home In Iowa and Missouri before moving to Illinois in 1948. For the past 13 years Mrs. Denger resided In Glen Ellyn, Ill., where she was a member of the Gary Memorial Methodist Church. For the past 11 years she was a representative for Lyons and Carnahan Educational Publishing Company in Chicago. Mrs. Denger died August 8, 1968 at Central DuGage Hospital at Winfield, Ill., following a lengthy illness. Her husband preceded her in death in 1965. Survivors include a daughter, (Bernadine), Mrs. Merritt Powles of Wheaton, Ill.; grandchildren, Stephen and Cynthia Powles, and sisters, Ellen Hilpipre of Clarion, Leona Henke of Charles City and Ida Bagley of San Francisco, California. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Methodist Church at Dows. Clergyman was Rev. Bailey, and organist was Mrs. Bailey. Mrs. John Unger and Mrs. Ernie Story had charge of the flowers. Pallbearers were Elmer Hansen, Wm. C. Stuck, Clifford White, Floyd Hackbarth, Maurice White and Thurman DeNio. The Van Hove Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery at Dows.
