Harry Roach, 62, Dies Saturday

Harry Roach, 62, passed away Saturday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Karl Weber of Clarion, where he had made his home for the past six months. Funeral services were held at Eagle Grove Tuesday at the Kastler funeral home with Rev. W. Gordon Smedsrud, pastor of First Lutheran church of Clarion, in charge. Masonic services were held at the funeral home Monday night at 8 o'clock. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery at Eagle Grove. His mother, Mrs. Patrick Roach, passed away in February of this year. Harry J. Roach was born at Volga City Feb. 7, 1889, son of Patrick and Christena Krieg Roach. At the age of 7 he moved with his parents to Eagle Grove where he attended the public schools. He entered the railroad industry in 1909 and followed this work until September, 1921, at which time he was injured to the extent that he was physically unable to continue in this line of work. He was married in 1910 to Anna Lawson. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Karl Weber and one granddaughter. Both his parents and his wife preceded him in death. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen.
