Evelyn "Evie" Brookshire, 75, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2007, in Fort Worth [TX] with her family at her side. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Monday, Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Laurel Land Funeral Home.

Evie was born June 8, 1932, in Goldfield, Iowa, to Fred and Verona Smith. An Iowa native, Evie came to Texas and met and married Ron Brookshire in Fort Worth. They were married for 39 wonderful years. She enjoyed gardening and loved to cook for her family. She will be greatly missed.

Evie was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ronnie Linn; and a brother, Clyde L. Smith. Survivors: Husband, Ron Brookshire; son, Anthony Brookshire and wife, Michele; daughter, Dee Dee Kennedy; grandchildren, Kyle, Koryn and Kayla Brookshire; many family members; and numerous friends.
