MRS. EARL W. CUNDALL

Jessie Pyle, daughter of Frank and Eliza Pyle was born in Sibley, Ill.. Jan. 4. 1888. At an early age she moved with her parents to Iowa, living in the communities of Galt and Popejoy. On Sept. 7, 1908, she was united in marriage to Earl W. Cundall of Galt. To this union four children were born: three daughters and one son, Mrs. Ila Wiards of Dows, Mrs. Vera Belle Collins of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Ardith Trousdale of Alden and Everett Cundall of Galt. Jessie and Earl began housekeeping on the I. L. Cundall farm north of Galt. Eight years later they moved to their own farm south of Galt which was their home for 24 years, then moving to Dows in 1940 which was since then their home. Mrs. Cundall has been in poor health for the last seven years and was taken seriously ill two weeks ago, then suffering a stroke a week ago. from which she never regained consciousness, passing away at 5:05 a. m. Monday, July 13, at Mercy hospital. Mason City. Mrs. Cundall was a member of the Congregational church at Galt and shared in the duties of the Dows W. S. C. S. as much as her health would permit. She was also affiliated with the Pythian Sisters and Royal Neighbors lodges. She was a member of the Elaine Vernon Social club for nearly 36 years. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday. July 15, at the Methodist church at Dows at 2 o'clock. Rev. Robert Williams and Rev. R.A. Brough were in charge. Mrs. Leonard Jacobson sang "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset." Max Banwell was the organist. Pall bearers were Ora White, Walter Houck, Archie Faust, Herman Schroder, Earl Carter and Ray Frey. Burial was in Clarion Evergreen cemetery with the Halverson funeral home at Dows in charge of arrangements.

Surviving are her husband, one son. Everett Cundall, Galt; three daughters. Mrs. Irving Wiarda, Dows: Mrs Max Trousdale, Alden; Mrs. C. C. Collins, Detroit, Mich.; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also four brothers and two sisters: William Pyle, Earl Pyle, Frank Pyle and Mrs. Arthur Ebert, all of Charles City, Mrs. Wendell Frazee and Arlo Pyle of Venice, Calif.
