HAMPTON — Florence Bernice (Busick) Nolte, 84, most recently a resident of the Hampton Health Care Center and formerly a lifelong resident of the Wright County area, died Monday (March 29, 2004) at the Hampton Health Care Center in Hampton. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Tenold-Andrews Funeral Home, 516 First St. S.E. in Belmond, with the Rev. Paddy Druhl of the Goodell Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Tenold-Andrews Funeral Home in Belmond and continue one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Florence Bernice Busick, the daughter of Henry and Minnie (Smith) Busick, was born April 23, 1919, on the family farm in Wright County. She attended rural school for a number of years. Following her education, she was employed for a time as hired housekeeper for various residences throughout the area. Florence was united in marriage to Virgil Samuel Nolte on May 15, 1946, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple farmed and raised their children on their Wright County farm. Florence was a farm wife and lifelong homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was an excellent baker and loved to make home- made breads, pies and other goods for her family, friends and farm helpers. Florence was always putting the needs of others before her own. She was an avid collector of many different nicknacks, including, painted eggs, birds, horses, tigers and a variety of other trinkets. She enjoyed watching the ducks, sheep and chickens. In earlier years, she and Virgil loved to go dancing. Florence enjoyed special times with her family and loved to teach her grandkids nursery rhymes. She belonged to various neighborhood card clubs. Florence was a member of the Goodell United Methodist Church. She had been a resident of Hampton Health Care since January of this year.

Those left to cherish the memory of her life include her daughter, Linda Marie (Nolte) Bluhm Kuhlers and her husband, Ron Kuhlers, of Meservey; son, Larry Eugene Nolte, of Belmond; grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn (Bluhm) O’Niell and her husband, Mark, and their son, Logan Thomas O’Niell, of River Falls, Wis., Helen Frances (Nolte) and husband, Troy Buckley, of Indianapolis, Ind., Melissa Ann (Kuhlers) Nixt and husband, David, of Osceola, Travis Eugene Nolte and companion, Katie Gordman and their daughter, Kaylee Marie Nolte, of Garner, Ryan Lee Kuhlers, of Meservey, and Christopher Cody Nolte of Goodell. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil, on Dec,. 13, 1973; sister, Helen Mae Wessels, and one brother, Henry Junior “Hank” Busick. Tenold-Andrews Funeral Home
