GOODELL -- Ina Mae Halfpop, 83, died Saturday (Feb. 17, 1996) at the Belmond Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Robertson officiating. Burial will be in the Amsterdam Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the Tenold Funeral Home, Belmond, and will continue 1 1/2 hours prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
Ina Mae (Burgess) Halfpop, the daughter of Thomas R. and Mabel (Smith) Burgess, was born Sept. 1, 1912 in Goodell. She attended school in Goodell. She was united in marriage to Paul Halfpop on April 26, 1931 in Garner. They resided in the Goodell area all of their married life. She was a former member of the United Brethren Church in Goodell, and has been a long time member of the United Methodist Church in Goodell. She was a member of the Ladies Aid of the church, and Prairie Quilters. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter, Catherine Barkema and her husband, Dick, Jr. of Goodell; one son, Bernard Halfpop and his wife, Harriett of Fairmont, Minn.; five grandchildren, Barbara Schaefer, Keith Barkema, Dick Barkema, Mark Barkema, and Paul Halfpop; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Barkema of Belmond; and one brother, Joe Burgess of Goodell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, one brother, one sister, and two great-grandchildren.

Died: Saturday, February 17, 1996Ina Mae (Burgess) Halfpop the daughter of Thomas R. and Mabel (Smith) Burgess was born September 1, 1912, at Goodell, Iowa. She attended the Goodell School system.
She was united in marriage to Paul Halfpop on April 26, 1931, at Garner, Iowa. She and Paul spent their entire married life in the Goodell area.
Ina was a member of the former United Brethren Church in Goodell, and a longtime member of the United Methodist Church in Goodell, the Ladies Aid, and the Prairie Quilters. She will always be remembered for being so devoted in her role as mother and grandmother.
She died at the Belmond Health Care Center on Saturday, February 17, 1996.
She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Barkema and her husband, Dick Jr. of Goodell, IA; son Bernard Halfpop and his wife, Harriett of Fairmont, MN.; grandchildren, Barbara Schaefer, Keith Barkema, Dick Barkema, Mark Barkema and Paul Halfpop, 8 great grandchildren, sister, Betty Barkema of Belmond, IA.; and a brother, Joe Burgess of Goodell. IA. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Paul, 2 great grandchildren, 1 sister and 1 brother.
