Abram Bechtel died Sunday evening, April 1st at his home on what is known as the old Wattles farm in the northeast corner of Glidden towhship. Mr. Bechtel was born in Baden, Germany, Nov. 14,1817. He came to America, in 1836. For some years he resided in Dubuque and later took up his residence in Eagle Grove from which place he came a year ago to live with his daughter, Mrs. A.P. Johnson on the farm above noted. Two children survive the father, Mrs. A.P. Johnson with whom he resides and H.A.Bechtel who who resides in Minneapolis. The deceased was a member of the German Lutheran Church. Hie remains were taken to Eagle Grove where funeral services were held Tuesday and interment made in the Eagle Grove Cemetery.
