Mildred Elizabeth Greenleaf 1915 ~ 2007

Mildred Elizabeth Greenleaf died 7 June 2007 in Sacramento where she had been living for the past eight years. She was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa on 21 July 1915 to Dr. Benjamin Exum McCulloch and Eva Pearl (Kimmitt). In 1937, she graduated from Iowa State University in Home Economics Education. She began her teaching career in Centerville, Iowa where she met Harold Greenleaf They were married in 1940, he died in 1995. Mildred and Harold moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1941. He began work with the Federal Aviation Agency and Mildred began a 25 year career teaching home economics. With their sons, they enjoyed the Utah outdoors camping, fishing, golfing and snowmobiling. All who knew her will remember her sense of humor and "good sport" attitude. During their retirement, Mildred and Harold were able to travel throughout the US and to Europe and the South Pacific. Mildred's son Tommy, her brother Dale and her sisters Mary and Margaret, predeceased Mildred. She is survived by her sons Jim (Suzanne) of Rochester, Minnesota; and Bob (Joyce) of Elk Grove, California; and grandchildren Trevor Margoit, William and Stephanie. She was a life long member of Order of Eastern Star and PEO. A remembrance of Mildred will be held at Christmas Meadows, Utah.
