Margaret Ann McGonegle, 80, of Fort Dodge, died Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 19th in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Edward Girres officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where there will be a Catholic Daughters of the Americas and Legion of Mary Rosary at 4:30 p.m.

Surviving are her sons, Timothy McGonegle and his wife Barbara of Chicago, IL, Thomas McGonegle and his wife Raynette of Fort Dodge; daughters, Ann McGonegle of Des Moines, Barbara Sievers and her husband Craig of Lynnwood, WA; grandchildren, Sarah, Christopher, Megan, Melissa, Erin, Matthew, Colin, Nikki, Schel, Jazmin; great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Ryan, Kara; sister, Mary Moore of Mason City, IA; brothers, Ed Chambers of Chicago and Ireland, John Chambers of Roselle, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Hazella (Downing) Chambers; her husband Eugene; a daughter, Trisha J. Straw; and a brother, Jim Chambers.

Margaret Ann Chambers was born May 15, 1927 in Clarion, Iowa. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Fort Dodge and Mt. Mercy College in Cedar Rapids. On October 13, 1951 she was united in marriage to Eugene F. McGonegle at Sacred Heart Church and they established their home in Fort Dodge. Margaret was employed with the Fort Dodge Public School System in the hot lunch program, and later managed the hot lunch program at St Edmond for 18 years until her retirement in 1992. She was a life long member of Sacred Heart Church, a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, the Legion of Mary, and was a member of the Sacred Heart Adult Choir. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Hospice of Fort Dodge.
