CLARION — Beverly J. Hecox, 77, Maryville, Mo., formerly of Clarion, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at a care center in Las Vegas, Nev. The family will greet friends and relatives from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, June 18, 2007, at the Ewing Dugger Helgeson Funeral Home, 602 North Main St., Clarion, IA 50525. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Beverly was born in Clarion, Iowa on April 7, 1930, to Harold K. and Marjorie Sumners. She married Keith Hecox on Aug. 21, 1951. They raised their family in Maryville. Keith survives her at home. Beverly was a strong and amazing role model for her children and grandchildren, who will miss her with all their hearts.

She is survived by her children, Cristi (Mark) Leafstedt, Flagstaff, AZ, Kimberly (Billy) Kincade, Council Bluffs, IA, Dr. William (Lan) Hecox, Springfield, Mo, Robert John Hecox, Kansas City, MO, and Cathy (Robert) Jones, Henderson, NV. She was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren, who have so many wonderful memories of her, Eric Kincade, Jennifer (Mark) Brown, Brett Kincade, Jason VanGundy, Paul (Sarah) Leafstedt, Ashley Leafstedt, Travis Hecox, James Blankenship, Emilee Blankenship and Paige Jones; and great-granddaughter Arriah VanGundy. She is also survived by her brother, Roger (Margaret) Sumners, and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Marilyn Melhuse.
