Carol A. Meyer was born Dec. 24, 1939, in Walters, Minn., the daughter of Harold and Erma (Awe) Meyer. She attended various schools around the Mason City area. She was employed with United Hydraulics in Hampton, Milepost 194, now Denny's, in Clear Lake, Eaton's in Belmond, and she retired from Bill's BBQ where she worked for nine years until she became stricken with cancer. Carol loved her job of being the only waitress at Bill's BBQ, she loved her customers and enjoyed seeing them regularly. She became wonderful friends with her boss, Jaylene Whipple, and her husband, Steve Whipple. Carol loved gardening with her neighbor, Jan Bergan, and filling up her bird feeders to feed "her" birds. She was an avid collector of bears, stuffed ones and all sorts of bear trinkets, and blankets. When Carol wasn't outside doing her yard work, she loved cooking her wonderful meals and singing and dancing to her country music while cleaning her house. She also loved Elton John and Elvis. Some of Carol's favorite things to do were playing jokes on family and friends watching her Vikings beat the Packers, and shopping at Wal-Mart, but most of all spending time with her family, grandkids and great-grand kids. Carol lived life to the fullest, each and every day like it was her last. Now that she is gone, she will be missed by her family and friends; and to anyone who came in contact with her it was truly a blessing and an honor to have known her. The family of Carol would like to give a special thank you to Hospice and the American Cancer Society for all the help and care received by them.
