Marlene Selma Wheeler, 71, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2007, at the Heritage Care Center, Iowa Falls Iowa. Funeral services for Marlene Wheeler will be 10:00 am Tuesday April 3, 2007 at the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Coulter, Iowa, with Pastor Lenny Carlson and Pastor Mary E. Peterson officiating. Burial will be at the Coulter Cemetery, Coulter, Iowa. Visitation will be at the Linn's Funeral Home, Iowa Falls Chapel from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday April 2, 2007, with family present. The Linn's Funeral Home, Iowa Falls Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Debra Fredericks in c/o Linn's Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Ave. Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126.

Marlene Selma Morton was born on August 6, 1935 in Belmond, Iowa, the daughter of John Edward "Ed" and Myrtle [Madsen] Morton. She received her education at Coulter Elementary School and Franklin Consolidated School, Latimer, Iowa graduating in 1952 as Valedictorian. On April 25, 1952, Marlene was united in marriage to Herbert C. Wheeler at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Coulter, Iowa. She worked in banking for many years and was also a homemaker. She loved to visit and interact with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was also active in her church.

Marlene Wheeler is survived by her husband, Herbert Wheeler of Iowa Falls and three daughters: Anita [Warren] White of Iowa Falls, Debra [Eric] Fredericks, of Iowa Falls, Karen [Darwin] Cole of Hampton, Iowa; She is also survived by three sisters; Peggy [Mac] Guldberg of Coulter, Iowa, Dixie [David] Jurgens, of Marion, Iowa, Emelia Tate of Lomax, Ill. and one brother, Sanford [Carole] Morton of Coulter, Iowa. Her grandchildren are Nathan and [Laura] Cole of Mexico, Matthew and [Ginger] Cole of Iowa Falls, Iowa, and Sarah Cole of Hampton, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Myrtle Morton, an infant daughter, Coleen Marie Wheeler, and two brothers, E.J. "Mort" Morton and Dallas Morton.
