MASON CITY — Mildred A. Nelson, 93, of Mason City, died Saturday (Jan. 1, 2005) at Good Shepherd Health Center. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Penn- sylvania Ave., with the Rev. James M. Magelssen officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and continues one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Mildred A. Nelson Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice.
Mildred was born Feb. 7, 1911, the daughter of Ralph A. and Louise (Hanson) Nelson in Wright County. She attended school in Wright County and the family moved to Cerro Gordo County in 1928. Mildred was a graduate of Plymouth High School. She worked for Damon's as head of the children's department for 28 years, retiring in 1976. Mildred was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was active in the Altar Guild at Trinity and was a member of RSVP.
Mildred is survived by her sister, Lucile Wyborny and husband, Don, of Mountain Home, Ark.; nephew, Paul Wyborny of Heabner, Okla.; niece, Ginny Blakely and husband, Bill, of Mountain Home, Ark.; niece, Rhonda Condie and husband, Tom, of Hyrum, Utah; and a nephew, Curtis Nelson and wife, Marty Pauley, of Mason City. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Richard, Howard and Laverne; and a twin brother and sister in infancy. Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory
