CLARION -- Vernon M. Chapman, 76, died Friday (August 2, 1996) at the Clarion Community Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Catholic Church with Father Wayne Droessler officiating. A Rosary followed by a Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Willim Funeral Home. Burial with military rites by the Clarion American Legion VFW will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Vernon M. Chapman was born April 4, 1920, south of Clarion. Survivors include two sisters, Viola Denger of Oxnard, Calif. and Barbara Knutson of Granton, Wisc.; and one brother, Fred of Clarion. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.
