CLARION — Olena Severina Anfinson, 86, died Friday (March 13, 1998) at the Clarion Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Holmes Lutheran Church, Holmes, with the Rev. Carlton Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Holmes Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Willim Funeral Home. The family will be present from 6-8 p.m. Olena Severina Anfinson was born near Clarion, July 19, 1911. She is survived by several cousins, her church family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Olena Severena Anfinson was born near Clarion, July 19, 1911, to Harry and Randi Holland Anfinson. She was baptized m the St. John's Lutheran Church near Kanawha by Pastor H. C. Holm and confirmed in the Holmes Lutheran Church by T. J. Spande. She graduated from the Eagle Grove High School, and later attended Drake University and graduated in the spring of 1959. She taught school in rural Wright County for a number of years. In the spring of 1954, she started teaching in the Clarion School System and remained there until her retirement in 1978. She lived in Clarion most of her life and had been a resident of the Clarion
Health Care Center since April 15, 1996.

Olena Severena Anfinson died Friday, March 13, 1998, at the Clarion Health Care Center at the age of 86. Survivors include several cousins, her church family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Johanna and Hilda. Funeral services were held Monday, March 16, 1998, at 2 p.m at the Holmes Lutheran Church, Holmes and officiated by Reverend Carlton Shaw. Burial was in the Holmes Lutheran Cemetery near Holmes. Willim Funeral Home, Clarion, was in charge of arrangements.
