FOREST CITY -- Mrs. Rolf (Bernice) Lund, 82, died Saturday (Jan. 25, 1997)at the Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Samuelson officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Holmes Lutheran Cemetery, Holmes. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home.

Bernice Lund was born in Clarion on Aug. 27, 1914, the daughter of Nels and Bertha (Midland) Koltvet. She received her education in Clarion and graduated from Clarion High School in 1933. She attended Waldorf College through 1935. Bernice taught school in Rake for several years, and on Aug. 6, 1944, she was married to Rolf Lund at the Holmes Lutheran Church in Holmes. The couple made their home in Forest City where Bernice taught fourth grade at the Forest City Elementary School. She retired from teaching in 1978. Bernice was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City where she taught Sunday school and was active in circle. She enjoyed keeping family scrapbooks and was an excellent cook. Bernice's life revolved around her family and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She died at the Good Samaritan
Center in Forest City on Jan. 25, 1997, at the age of 82 years.

Bernice is survived by her husband, Rolf Lund, of Forest City; a daughter and her husband, Marsha and Del Ray Johnson of Fergus Falls, Minn.; and two sons and their spouses, Mark and Sonya Lund of Decorah and Stephen and Mary Beth Lund of Norfolk, Neb. She also is survived by a brother, Stanley Koltvet of Maryville, Tenn.; five sisters, Leona Stavenheim, Anna Koltvet, Blanche Thompson and Maxine Koltvet, all of Clarion, and Naomi Austin of Rochester, Minn.; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Eveline Anderson; and two brothers, Theodore and Bernard Koltvet.
