22 October 2000ROWAN - Cleo May (Peddle) Tudor died Friday (Oct. 20, 2000) at the Dows Care Center, after a long illness with Alzheimer's disease. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at United Church of Rowan with the Rev. JoAn Skyme officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Rowan. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Tenold Funeral Home, Belmond and at the church one hour prior to services on Monday.
Cleo May (Peddle) Tudor was born May 25, 1911 north of Rowan. She was the daughter of William and Fern (Munson) Peddle. She graduated from Rowan High School with the class of 1928. She was married to Hubert D. Tudor on Dec. 18, 1929 at Clarion. To this union, two children were born, Betty and Clebert. They farmed north of Rowan until 1956, when they moved to a farm at Nebo, Mo. Cleo and her family were baptized in the farm creek on her birthday in 1958. She and Clebert moved back to Iowa in 1964, after her husband passed away. She cooked for the Rowan school for seven years. She was the first cook for the Rowan congregate meals. She was a member of the Rowan women's fellowship. She loved gardening, making quilts, traveling with her family, cooking, baking, and especially her grandchildren.
She will be missed by her daughter, Betty Roberts, of Forest City; and former son-in-law, Roy Roberts of Rowan; her son, Clebert Tudor and his wife, Linda, of Lebanon, Mo.; six grandchildren, Paul Roberts and his wife, Sandi, of Rowan, Dan Roberts of Rowan, Tim Roberts of Dows, Eric Tudor and his wife, Sarah, of Lebanon, Mo., Rachel Luick and her husband, Tom, of Glenview, Ill., and Deb Hoover and her husband, Steve, of Forest City; six great-grandchildren, Jason and Stacey Roberts of Titonka, Chris and Travis Roberts of Rowan, and Alex and Shannon Tudor of Lebanon, Mo.; her sister, Lillie Lockman and her husband, Lloyd of the Belmond Health Care Center; sister-in-law, Marj Tudor of Charles City; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hubert, step-father, Richard Bell, three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Tenold Funeral Home.
