Vern W. Schluter, 92, of Belmond, died Wednesday (April 9, 1997) at the Belmond Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church, Goodell, with the Rev. Jerry Robertson and the Rev. Ken Fineran officiating. Burial will be in Amsterdam Cemetery, Goodell. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Dugger-Ewing Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Vern W. Schluter was born Oct. 27, 1904, in Meservey. Survivors include his wife, Voral, of Belmond; three daughters, Sheryl Hanna of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Sandy Hansen of Rowan, and Sueanne French of Ackley; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
