MASON CITY - Margery J. Lee, 85, of 2012 S. Harding Ave., died Tuesday (Nov. 28, 2000) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Kenneth Hatland officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and one hour before services on Friday at the church.

Margery J. Lee was born May 3, 1915, in Holmes, the daughter of Louis and Engeborg Stenson. She received her education in the Wright County schools. She accepted the Lord as her personal Saviour at an early age and never wavered from her commitment to Him. On April 21, 1941, Margery was united in marriage with Jack W. Lee in Minneapolis. She attended beauty college in Minneapolis. Margery operated her own beauty shop in Minneapolis, later moving to the Plymouth, Mason City, Thor and Goldfield areas. She operated beauty shops in Mason City and Thor. Margery drove the Red Cross Bus in Mason City and worked as a caregiver for many, including her family members. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church most of her adult life, where she taught Sunday school and was active in other church-related activities. She loved attending local functions. A favorite pastime was going out for pie and coffee as well as attending the Friday morning Bible study at the Senior Center. Margery had an active curiosity-always wanting to know what was happening in her corner of the world. She always had a willingness to help wherever she could. She was loved by family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.

Left to mourn her passing is her son, Roger D. and his wife, Kay, of Leland; a daughter, Brenda Entler and her husband, Howard, of Des Moines; five grandchildren, Lisa and Jennifer Hanson, of Leland, Jeri Lynn Entler and Karen Entler, of Des Moines, and Stacy Hendricks and her husband, Michael, of Des Moines; three great-grandchildren, Joslyn Entler, Ali Entler and Mercedes Hendricks, all of Des Moines; one sister, Eleanor Evans, of Longmont, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents, Louis and Engeborg Stenson; sister, Sylvia Hanson and her husband, Albert; her husband, Jack W. Lee; and their son, Gerald W. Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory.
