CLARION — Sam Douglas, Jr., 67, died Sunday (March 1, 1998) at the Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ with Mark Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Willim Funeral Home, Clarion, with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Sam was born Sept. 8, 1930, in Clarion. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Douglas, Clarion; two brothers, William Douglas Sr., Goldfield, and Richard Douglas, Olathe, Kan.; and two sisters, Rose Douglas, Olathe, Kan., and Betty Ridenhour, Belle, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Memorials may be directed to the Church of Christ, Clarion.
