Mildred M. Jacobmeyer Knoll, 90, who was born in Belmond, formerly lived in Mason City, and recently moved to Florida from Oregon, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at her home. Graveside services were Monday, Nov. 29, at the Hampton Cemetery. Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton was in charge of arrangements. She was born April 28, 1909, in Belmond, to Frank and Mabel Jacobmeyer. She grew up in Belmond except for a few years when her family moved to Frazee, Minn. After attending Belmond schools she moved to Mason City. On Sept. 16, 1930 she married Lloyd E. Knoll in Garner. He died in 1976. She worked in retail trade in Mason City for over 40 years, including United Fruit, Younkers, Russings Supermarket and Safeway. She enjoyed traveling and visited her sons in Oregon and Colorado many times. She enjoyed crocheting, cleaning and cooking. For many years she assisted in the meal preparation for functions at church and at the Masonic Temple. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mason City and the Masonic Order of the White Shrine. She continued to live in Mason City until August of 1991, when she moved to Eugene, Ore. to be near her son, E. J. Knoll and his family.
She is survived by E. J. who now lives in Naples, Fla. and by one other son, Lee L. Knoll, of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; four grandchildren; and one brother, Howard F. Jacobmeyer, of Belmond. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters.
